A modular or a prefabricated home is Built in a factory-like and a climate-controlled area and assembled in the destination;

Prefabricated and assembled in a relatively short period of time;
Built under specific rules, guidelines and building codes that often surpass those of traditional on-site homes.

Modular homes:
Appraise the same as their on-site built counterparts do and are faster to build.
Do not depreciate in value;
Have in-house engineering departments that utilize CAD (Computer Aided Design).
Do not look alike and have various designs, styles and size, and can be customized;
Are not mobile homes and cannot be moved after they have been set on their foundations;
Are permanent and environmentally friendly structures;
Can be built to withstand hurricane winds
Can be used for commercial applications, including office buildings

For Modular homes taxes, insurance premiums and home loans are the same as site-built homes. All construction related inspections are performed at the factory by a third-party inspector, and are completed before the homes are transported to their permanent locations.

More affordable than site-built ones,
More energy-efficient,
Environmentally friendly,
Can be of various designs and sizes and may be expanded and redesigned.
